We are looking for a suitably experienced person to be our Team Leader: Infrastructure Planning.

The Role

The Asset and Infrastructure Planning team is part of the Growth and Infrastructure Group, and are responsible for planning the development of the infrastructure to support our growing city. We have an opportunity for you to have direct involvement in planning for Tauranga's growth.

We require a Team Leader: Infrastructure Planning to develop integrated and efficient delivery of infrastructure planning practices and projects, whilst building effective infrastructure planning relationships with activities and local, sub-regional, regional and national groups.

We are looking for an exceptional person to join our hard working team, to manage a small group of Planning Engineers (Waters, Transport, and Modelling). The role reports to the Manager: City and Infrastructure Planning and is based in the Tauranga CBD.

The Successful Candidate

Candidates with relevant experience gained in a local government, or a similarly complex environment will be highly desirable.

To be considered for this opportunity you will also need to offer:

  • A degree in Transportation,  Planning or Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of 10 years working in infrastructure planning
  • 5+ years' experience with resource management processes and the Resource Management Act
  • A post-graduate qualification and Chartered Professional Engineer registration is highly desirable
  • Preferably 5 years' people management experience.
