Systems and Information Officer

Type(s):
Asset Management
Transportation

Organisation:
Dunedin City Council

Location:
Otago

Seniority:
Experienced

Description:

Dunedin is an amazing place to live and work, and if you were to ask anyone living here, they’ll tell you that there’s something indescribably special about our city. It’s small enough to feel like you’re part of a community, but big enough to ensure that there’s always something going on. From the great outdoors to arts, culture and education, all within 10 minutes of the city centre. Dunedin has so much to offer, so why not come and feel just how special it is?

The Dunedin City Council’s Transport Group is responsible for the planning, development, operations, and maintenance of the City’s roading network. We are looking for a database professional with an interest in asset management.

You’ll be working as part of a small team, managing a database containing more than 140,000 assets. You will get to work within a supportive and professional environment, and be part of a team which ensures the DCC’s transport asset information is of the highest standard. The role involves a mix of project management, reporting, data processing, data validation and system administration. This is a job which will take you out of the office on a regular basis; a full clean driver’s licence is a must.

Accurate asset data is a vital part of our renewals planning, so we need someone with a good eye for detail and the skills to lead data improvement projects. You’ll work closely with our Asset Engineer to ensure we have the right information to enable good decision making. Experience with Microsoft SQL would be an advantage, as would experience working with RAMM.

So if you want to kick start or further your career in asset management, are eager to be part of a great team, and have the drive and motivation to succeed, then we look forward to hearing from you.

Applications close Friday 25th August 2017.
